This presentation will reflect on results of the experimental project based on both research and teaching objectives and activities. It was implemented during the first semester of the 2020-21 academic year in the framework of the undergraduate online course “Museums and Digital Cultures.” The educational and research project “Museums & Digital Cultures in the Global Post-Pandemic Reality,” adopted a “connected intelligence” approach to bring together academics, students, and museum professionals to reflect in a collaborative way on the transformations experienced by contemporary museums under the pressure of 24/7 digital lockdown in the global pandemic situation. The presentation will explain how a strategic employment of the “connected intelligence” approach allowed to reimagine arts management education by converging academic research, educational tasks, and industry engagements to generate new knowledge benefiting all involved stakeholders. It also created a robust platform for inductive explorations of innovative technologies to reimagine museum management, curatorial and audience development tasks in relation to such topics as Digital Festivals, Augmented Reality Apps, Virtual Reality & Heritage Spaces, and AI in Museums.
